We’re all mourning the loss of Oink here at the kissatlanta.com house. So, in its absence, I have spent extra time reading the blogs this week and came up with an entirely new set list of solid gold.
The Automatic – Monster (Karl G Remix)
Panda Toes posted this fucking incredible Karl G remix of some band called The Automatic. The second I heard it, I immediately dragged it over into my set list for the weekend. As soon as the break down came in, the crowd started clapping and screaming. The chorus is so infectious that you could tell the immediately wanted to start chanting it, but didn’t know the words yet. Every DJ in the room came down and asked what it was. I have a feeling I’m going to beat this horse till it’s dead.
Kanye West – Flashing Lights (Mano Uptempo Remix)
More props to Panda Toes for this one. Has Mano made a bad remix yet? Can they continue to get better everytime? I hope so. I know this sound a bit outside of my typical style… but I guess that’s the point. I’ve been mixing up my sets a lot more. At the end of the weekend I’ll post my entire set list so you can see how I’ve been programming my dance floors as of late.
Simian Mobile Disco – Love (Duke Dumont Ode To Todd Mix)
It’s well known that I’m a fan of all things UK lately… and this track with it’s 2-step garage revival feel is incredibly refreshing. I would love to hear those bending and searing speed garage bass lines over the skipping 2-step beat. Thanks to Duke Dumont for switching it up on us.
M.I.T.C.H. Feat Uffie and Feadz – Fais Rentrer Les Euros (Unreleased Audioporno Remix)
If you told me I’d be playing a track with Uffie in it the day before yesterday… I would have laughed at you. Well, I guess I still would because I mix in the beat after her last line and just play the last half of the track. Any guesses why I love this song? Whuaa Whuaa Whuaaa Whuuaaa….
Spektrum – Don’t Be Shy (Speaker Junk Remix)
This one comes via Attorney St, who has also been posting a ton of quality stuff that has inevitably been finding a way into my set. Great remix here from Speaker Junk (aka Herve)… bringing more funk than typically heard from his camp. This song mixed great with the Armand Van Helden remix of Tori Amos I posted yesterday.

And I’ve been blogged by Discodust…
I’d be really surprised if that Duke Dumont “Ode To Todd Mix” isn’t a nod to Todd Edwards. Very Happy to hear the sound re-emerging.
