It’s almost baffling to think of not only how long Armand Van Helden has been producing, but also to take into account the hundreds of remixes and original tracks he’s done over his career. You’d think after all this time he’d start losing it, but like the superstar he is, he keeps finding ways to reinvent himself and regain the spotlight.
There was a period, over ten years ago, when people thought Armand was done. He had gone through a cycle where he had remixed everything… and his signature sound was starting lose it’s sparkle. Then, he does this remix of an odd Tori Amos song and in doing so sets the entire world on fire.
So, I am very pleased to dig this one out of the archives for you… I’m really surprised I don’t hear this one out more often when DJ’s drop classics in their sets.
