Two years ago in the weeks leading up to Christmas, Jordan (of Snowden) set up his laptop, an amp, a keyboard, and a few mics in the corner of his friend’s loft and decided to record a few Christmas songs while she was away working during the days. Later on the three tracks he recorded and an extra b-side became known as the Licorice EP. The EP was never released officially, nor was it ever intended to be packaged or sold as some marketing gimmick. Jordan was simply taking some time away from himself to put his own spin on some of his favorite songs of the season. The result is an incredibly lo-fi, heart-warming, albeit sobering take on songs that you weren’t sure you could stand hearing anymore.
Christmas is one of those conflicted holidays with polar opposites of happiness and sadness depending on the person and circumstances… somehow this EP captures both in every song.

Their rendition of White Christmas is possibly the most beautiful Christmas tune ever.
He captures the emotions that are felt around Christmas, that aren’t joy but aren’t sadness, so well.
