I guess if you’ve been reading since I came out of a mental coma, you could probably expect what was coming for this Disco 2000’s theme. After a few non-stop weeks of listening to Washed Out, then seeing Neon Indian in concert, and taking some time to backtrack through his other persona, Vega, it’s only fitting that we take a bit of an Italo Disco journey.
We’ll be focusing more on the contemporary nods to the iconic sound of the late 70’s/early 80’s. You’ll get lots of stuff from Vega, Washed Out, Penguin Prison, et al. However, it’s impossible to stay away from classics by Giorgio Moroder, Maurice Cavaleri, and Bobby Orlando… and the plethora of artists they cultivated.
