It’s been two months since the resurrection of AFTERLIFE… which sounds a bit weird when you say it. However, the February AFTERLIFE exceeded all of our expectations and we’re very excited to be back at The Masquerade in Hell yet again this Friday, April 10th. We highly recommend arriving at 11pm to get through the line quickly.
This month, we’re very happy to welcome one of our favorite DJ’s in Atlanta, DJ Smiles and our headliner, Jesse Jamz, who is visiting us from Louisville, Kentucky. I’ve asked both of them to provide some samples of their remixes and favorite tracks at the moment. I’m throwing a few of my favorites into the mix as well.
Jesse Jamz:
Louis La Roche – Do You Remember?
Michael Mind – Ride Like The Wind (2008 Klaas Remix)
Clazziquai – Prayers (Shinichi Osawa Remix)
Eli Smith – Party All Knight (Jesse Jamz Remix)
Streetlab – NY Sound (Jesse Jamz Remix)
Hollywood Holt – Hollywood (Jesse Jamz Remix)
DJ Smiles:
Claire Hux – Down On The Floor (Solly Remix)
DJ Smiles – Pregame (feat Niko and o8o)
Le Castle Vania – Zero Machine (DJ Smiles Remix)
Preston Craig:
Martin Accorsi – This Is How We Do

Smiles = Flawless Edits!
I don’t know what just happened at the Masquerade. I don’t know who made the decision to cut off Dan Deacon’s set, and I guess it doesn’t matter, but I think it was handled completely unprofessionally. I am pretty sure that no one deserved to be cut off without so much as a chance to say “Thanks for coming, good night.” I’m certain that I did not need to be subjected to racist comments from the DJ afterwards, insinuating that my visible disgust was based on some type of racial issue. I assure you, mine was not. I left because I felt insulted, and every person that was with me immediately closed out their bar tabs and walked out. Hope it was AWESOME.
