I don’t usually post tracks I wouldn’t play myself, but these two are just gorgeous. My friend Kid Color here in Chicago just finished a remix of “Escape To Europa” by Man Is Doomed and I was blown away when he sent it over. I told him when I listened to it that it sounded like the original song and the original sounded like the electro remix. Lo and behold he said his intention was to create a remix that sounded like the original song. It’s incredibly funky with loads of percussion and impeccable placement with the vocals. A little bonus synth pops in towards the end of the track, making it a great transition song. I have a feeling Preston will dig this one…

Next up is Italy’s Kocleo who has added his touch on Afrika Bambaataa & UB40’s “Reckless.” Instrumentally it retains a lot from the original, but adds shuffled drums, some filters and speeds up the bpm a touch. Just enough of an update to make it work in an early set – reminds me of 90’s disco house. Have you ever seen the original video for this song? Magical.
